Bubba: A Sookie Stackhouse Review

Okay, I am moving through the Sookie Stackhouse novels very quickly. In fact, I finished off books 3 and 4 yesterday and am currently waiting for the 5th one in the series. While I am enjoying them, I just think it would be really redundant to review them all. So, I'm just going to talk about one of my favorite characters in the book.
I love Bubba the vampire, who is none other than GUESS WHO?! Now, I've never been a huge Elvis fan, but I love that they explain the numerous sightings since his death with vampirism.
According to the story, when Elvis was brought into the morgue after his drug overdose, there was still just a tiny spark of life left in him. The mortician, being a vampire and a fan, decided to "bring him over."
But apparently, during the process, something went amiss and now he's a bit of a ...uh..... well it's just that he's ..........not QUITE right. You can't call him Elvis for one, because it really upsets him. So they just call him Bubba, and now all of the vampire communities sort of pass him around because he's needs a lot of attention (read babysitting).
I don't really know if Bubba made the TV series or not, but his character in the books is absolutely priceless. He's very sweet and childlike in a ..... "don't-upset-him-dangerous" kind of way, because he is also very strong and simple minded. Every time he pops up in the books I just get tickled. I love it. I love the reactions from other characters whenever he shows up. Has anyone else read these? What did you think of Bubba?

I've read the entire series (waiting for the newest one to come out). And yes, yes, I think Bubba is great! He makes me smile too :)

i love bubba too. i think its interesting how the author never comes out and actually says its Elvis. i mean, everyone knows...but its never explicitly said.

i suppose my favorite character from the books is Erics sidekick/assistant Pam. i think shes so tough and cool.

ive only seen season one of the show and there was no bubba, but i imagine he has to make an appearance sooner or later.

I could not get into the Sookie books, which is too bad. But I love the idea of this.

Tammie- Pam is really an awesome character too. I find her to be pretty funny. I think you described these books perfectly when you said "they are rocket science just quick and fun" LOL That's kinda why I like them so much. Not been in the mood for a very deep read lately.
